I was anxiously waiting for season 5 as I thing the True Detective franchise is one of the best. This season is incredibly disappointing no matter how hard I tried to like it The characters are not very likable and all have the typical tortured pasts. The show also enlisted the usual mystical native American theme that I find predictable and insulting. Every episode I've seen is so redundant. The emotionally tortured characters snipe and yell at each other in the same way over and over and it just seems like the plot is stagnating. The subplots just get thrown in for a reason I am at a loss to define. If I was to miss the remaining episodes for some reason I don't think I'd ever give it a second thought.
