Let me preface by saying I'm not a true metalhead. But I *do* like a lot of old school & newer metal. I was in my teens during Thor's 80's heyday & they were barely on my radar. I think I saw random clips of late night videos & I really only paid attention to the voluptuous Pantera.
Fast forward to 2020 & for some reason, my dormant memory of these guys reawakened so I watched a couple of videos on YT & Loved "Anger". (Terrible music video, rockin' song) This led me down a rabbit hole to this documentary. I Am Thor is an honest, inspiring, stark & sometimes funny, but often sad look at the career of Jon Miki Thor. They're one of those "not quite" bands that *just* didn't manage to carve out a piece of the mainstream success pie, but have a small, very loyal following. Seemed the big leagues were perpetually just out of reach.
But if you're a fan from back in the day or doing some late to the game digging now like myself, this is definitely worth sitting for.
