Such a missed opportunity. The casting and cinematography let down by a muddled script with a mismatched soundtrack, particularly in the second half with the battle of Borodino soundtrack a low point! The characterisation of the relationship between Joesephine and Napoleon is just bizzarre - one minute she is prepared to sell her self cheaply to survive and the next minute a dominatrix and then role reversal and so on. Really lacks credibility. Some massive historical liberties that scream at the viewer. A pointless meeting at the end between Napleon and Wellington that never happened with emphasis on how much taller was Wellington when it is commonly accepted that there was about 3" different in stature. As for the final battle of Waterloo - I guess they had run out of money by that point and only had a little time to fill.
Frankly I prefered the 1970 movie "Waterloo"
