Gerald Hall

The film had all the ingredients to be very good, but it fell short I think due to its preoccupation with the fictional love story between the Colin Firth and Kelly McDonald characters. A very dark film visually and very wordy, sometimes a bit tedious. I saw the original 1950s film about the deception quite recently on Television. This was The Man Who Never Was, which I thought was better and more to the point. Would like to have seen how the contents of the brief case was put together in more detail.
