I have seen every movie version of Little Women. This version makes explicit what older versions have hinted at about the characters. Jo wanted to be a boy. Laurie wanted to be a girl. Loving families also hate each other sometimes. I read Little Women as a child. This movie makes me want to read the book as an adult.
