It's as if Kevin Hart watched Ocean's Eleven and said... "I want a movie like that... But how can we make it so unconvincing that people will feel dumber when it's over?".

I was really hoping this movie would be a hit… but it turned out to be a little to punchy for me. Slave owners did not just kill slaves like throwing away tissue paper. I’m all for entertainment, but at least make a movie about history somewhat believable. This show turned out to be a bit of slap in the face if you will... apple always markets well. The cinematography was quite striking.. attempting to be very dramatic. Or help hide the fact 90% of it was shot on a stage. It’s also got a little Forrest Gump vibe since we kinda get 10 years of life condensed into one crazy week. At least he gets to fight back in the end, we all need a little more Will Smith letting loose in people’s faces.
