i started watching this show because it was on immediately following Bill Maher's show...but i just love it! there is something surreal and existential about it, and i have become very attached to it...as a matter of fact, last night i didn't even watch Maher, but i did watch Painting with John...i was sad to discover that next week is the season "finale", and hope the show will have a season 2, and maybe even onward from that...
