I enjoy the show. I agree with the majority that it should not have started out with a sex scene. Shows with themes such as this one is what conditions young females to be sexist or feminists and that isn't what we want for out community. It would make the show so much better if that element of "modernization" was removed and it stuck to the books. The setting is enjoyable and I like the whole get-up. Even better would be if it was set a little back farther in time and made it so it was a show for teenagers with the appropriate content for younger children that enjoy Nancy Drew.

The only book paralleled by this one is Jennifer A. Neilsen's The Shadow Throne. This book's writing style is impeccable. I was blown away by the story. At times I was physically reacting, I have never covered my ears when a character screamed in a book yet I found myself doing that last night. I enjoyed the subtleties of real-life actions such as the characters throwing their hands out and hitting something occasionally. The setting is like a medieval world set in the future, exactly what I am looking for. This book is amazing and I am definitely going for the second. Thank you Veronica Roth. I aspire to be an author like her.
