That was by far the biggest waste of time of my life. To call this movie the worst movie I've ever seen is an understatement. In the beginning, the anticipation had me believing it was a promising film. I couldn't have been more wrong. There were an infinite number of themes hinted, none of them were followed through. The initial plot of it being a home invasion of sorts-- dead end. Then they wanted to go with the 'end of the world' plot... First it was about hackers taking over the world-- dead end. Then in the end the people at fault were somehow Korea, China, and Iran at the same time? Sounds like a typical American movie where they couldn't pick which world 'villain' to choose. The teenager also had a random sickness that was either caused by a bug bite in the woods or radiation from the 'noise' of which no one knows the cause. The black guy's daughter was convinced Julia Roberts was racist because she didn't trust them? During the end of the world? Sounds like someone wanted to include a racial narrative but couldn't figure out how. Julia Roberts' 13-year-old daughter has an inexplicable, and, frankly, psychologically questionably obsession with the show, 'friends.' She ends up not caring at all what happens to her family and abandons them to watch the show. If you're thinking this is some deep comment on today's society, you're wrong. It doesn't make any sense, the movie did not make ANY sense. Oh, and then there was the fact that the animals were somehow warning them about something? What even was that? Anyone who says this movie is good is trying to make up for lost time. I don't blame them, but this movie is terrible.
