A single star is about all I can muster for this dumpster fire of a series. The actors get all the credit for doing some good acting with one of the worst scripts ever written. The writers should be turned over to the real MI6 and secretly tried for gross incompetence. Best line in the series delived by an 8 year old boy who carries around a stuffed rabbit, "Dad, are we the good guys?' Dad: "Of course."

A really good cast is a terrible thing to waste… Such potential and it was ruined by a terrible screenplay. Dialogue at the end made me laugh it was so bad - and this was supposed to be the dramatic culmination of the entire plot. Need I say more. A stinker of a movie.

So far this remake is a dud. The acting is wooden and the story plods along. The book is suspenseful and terrific. The original movie had a 5 star cast; the remake is really, really meh so far. Jake’s wife Barbara seems bored to be in this stinker of a miniseries. Can you blame her? What a waste of good talent. Painless, the medical examiner is overacting his part and goes off on Rusty for no good reason in the first episode. The only half decent performances are by the new DA and his incompetent lead prosecutor. Don’t waste your time.

This second part is interminably long. Fell asleep in the middle of it. This entire series could had benefited from an editor. Hope they don’t try to serialize the other books!

Wow! This is one of the best series I have seen in years! The cinematography alone is worth watching. It is captivating, clever, thrilling, and psychologically daring. The acting is equally good and there are so many twists and turns in the series you are always on the edge of your seat. This is a must see!

What a waste of talent and writing. I have not read the book this is based on but if this series is a close adaptation of the novel, what a shame! As a number of reviews have noted, there are enough plot holes in the storyline that the writers should be impeached for malpractice. I don’t know how three talented actors could be so wasted in such a slow moving, dull, and preposterous script. The characters are completely one dimensional and frankly unlikeable. Everyone is so morally compromised, smug, and vapid in this story that as a result, it is next to impossible to empathize with the wife even when she has a moment of moral clarity at the end. This series is a poster child of how Netflix chooses to indiscriminately throw money and talent away without any supervision or quality control. Don’t waste your time on this stinker a series.
