A superb album which highlights the spell Shirley casts over an audience. She has to be seen live to appreciate her charisma and stage management and the power of her voice. She was at the height of her powers in the 1970s and one of the best in the business. Her American fans always turned out in big numbers at the many Carnegie Hall concerts over many decades.
