I was in a very bad state back in 2019 and I felt depressed and empty.
I went out to watch the "live action" film and I felt even worse somehow.
This movie is the equivalent of eating really nice looking food.
But once you actually start eating, you discover the food tastes like nothing. It feels weightless and eating it makes your stomach feel even more empty than it did before.
It was so surreal.
Watching this film is EXACTLY what it feels like to live through a depressive mental episode.
Impactful events fall flat and in the end nothing really matters.
You're just going through the motions of your life.
Just like this film did.
There was no heart, no life and no soul put into making this film.
It's trash.
Facesare frozen in place, no matter the state of the characters emotions.
Word or word verbal regurgitation of the first film with ZERO originality.
Nala isn't cool and outgoing as in the first film.
Pacing is rushed.
All the scenery looks dead dispite Africa being rich and diverse in color and environment.
Scars epic villain song?
COMPLETELY BUTCHERD
No engaging visuals, no actual "singing."
Imagine READING the lyrics to bohemian rapsody in the most monotone voice you could image.
No instrumentals, no vocal range, just imagine how that would be.
That is also the feeling of the whole movie.
Key moments from the original were left out.
Sky Muffasa?
Never heard of him.
Rafikkis life lesson about the past hurting and you learn from it?
Also left out.
It's just another cookie cutter cashgrab film from Disney. Don't waste your time.
