Mayo, the British TV series, was brilliant. The shows directors had an unusual style wherein the series plays out like an odd acid trip. Everything from the midcentury orange, red and black credit style and tango piano score, to the bizarre characters set in hyper realistic middleclass village settings... it was so creative and just off tilt enough to visually hook the viewer. There were subtle editing and scene blends that roll by so quickly you may not notice them.... but the editing was amazing. It was a show way before it's time. I'm writing this review in 2022 and it just seems so current in a camp sort of way. Too bad they only did one season. It's so strange you want to watch the episodes over and over.
