From his point of view, he is correct. But from my point of view, I totally disagree. Everyone have to care about something in their life, so that you won't fall as deep as Borowski did. Ignorant is the gateway to ruining your own and other's lives. What's the difference between a person who won't stop changing for the better and person who won't take control of their own lives?
