honestly, it was just okay. The characters never felt fleshed out, save maybe Homura and Sayaka. Even then, (spoilers for episode 10-12) Homura has her backstory thrown at us in a full episode dedicated to her. It feels cheap, and unearned. I did like the concept, and the morally grey characters. It did drag a bit around the end, too.
