Its just ok. It wasn't good but it wasn't bad either. It's very similar to the alien movies. The monsters are similar to the alien. Just replace outer space with bottom of the ocean. It's just not quite as good as that, but that was definitely what they were trying for.

The cast is good and that's about the only thing that is. This movie tries to be a funny movie and a horror movie but fails on both fronts. The idea is interesting and if you're going to do another one of these type of movies it's good to put a new spin on it. The only problem is the movie doesn't deliver on genuinely funny or scary moments. There are also just too many things that don't make sense. It starts as a bad movie but at least it makes sense. They try to have a twist in the middle with the dad that doesn't really make sense or add anything to the movie. Then the last like 10 minutes it really runs off the rails. I won't put any spoilers but if you watch it you'll see what I mean. It's basically a bad movie with a really bad ending.

If you have seen a slasher movie before it was probably a better version of this movie. There is nothing in this movie I haven't already seen done before elsewhere. It's not just unoriginal though, that could be forgiven if it wasn't so boring. You're better off watching Friday the 13th or Scream, the two movies I think this was trying to imitate the most, even if you've already seen them multiple times before.
