Girl, stop apologizing, I like this book for one, because it is based on what the author has tried and found works, not on a bunch of things that the author thinks might work based on some study or text book. However, I just want to point out that what worked for her may not necessarily work for you to the T. You may need to make some modifications to suit your life and who you are, as long as you get the general idea.
This book is strongly about women empowerment, women being unapologetically themselves, but it's not men vs women type of book. It's mainly about what women believe about themselves, whether due to social contrasts or upbringing. It's meant to help the woman realise these beliefs and grow out of them, creating a different and bright
future for herself. Some women don't even realise that they have these kind of beliefs about themselves, so before you think, well this book is not for me, give it a try. It mentions a few skills that can be learnt to better prepare yourself to reach the goals you have set out for yourself.
My major take from the book is to know your why. Why do you want to reach a certain goal, why do you have that dream. Knowing and remembering your why will help keep you going when it's hard, it will remind you why you need to keep working towards your goal when you feel like quitting.
I like this book because it is very insightful and the author is brutally honest. Her writing style was such that it feels like you're talking to a friend, a no nonsense friend. It's simple, chilled and refreshing. You can feel the personality of the author through her use of words and to me that is a great book to read because it doesn't feel like it's just words on a page, but rather like the author is there with you and you can feel them.
I give this book 5/5 stars and I leave you with a quote from the book:
"Friends, personal growth is supposed to be personal.
It’s not one size fits all. It has to be customized to you and the way you learn best, or it’s never going to stick."
