It was interesting. I did not like the interjections so much. I could see how offense could be taken from the very minor slights he encountered in this fictionalization. I understand what he being said, but Colin thinks we do not because he keeps interjecting. I was though provoking, but in a way that I already think. I do take exception to the scenes where he almost does not get a cookie, or ice cream. Even that he is only getting scholarships for baseball. It seems self-serving. Poverty in America is a real problem and it hits you more when you are black. However, I tried to get into the military and so did my white friend. She did not pass the test. Education is the key. When someone tries to withhold something from you that is beneficial there is usually a reason why. More people need to take education seriously. Colin did not get an ice cream cone. When I was 4, two white men put their feet on my head as I was going around the perimeter of the pool on a summer cruise. They thought it was funny to see me struggle not to drown. My mom was molested on a bus full of people who saw what was happening and no one helped her. They just looked at her like she was teenaged trash. Colin? He did not get ice cream.
