Sub-par JRPG.
Some pros:
* 5 character party system.
* Battle system is novel with characters moving around the field to attack on a psuedo 3d environment
* Your whole party follows you in towns and in the overworld. Very fun.
* Free revives after the battle ends, but before exp is given out.
* No enemies on the overworld
* Anime introductions for all characters.
* Anime cutscenes for special moments.
Cons
* The motivation for the story is basic.
* Battles do get repetitive.
* Monsters chase you in dungeons and they are faster than you.
* Sometimes the battles aren't fair. I've been 1-turn KO'ed because all the enemies did their special attack.
Besides that, this is a straight forward JRPG. Not many interesting mechanics, or story plot twists. This is like a JRPG to play when all you want is a uncomplicated, straightforward plot, with not many mechanics.
I'd suggest to play this to get the feel of JRPG's in '94 and on the Saturn.
Many people mentioned the music. It is actually pretty good. Not good enough to be a "Pro". I won't be humming any of these tunes. This music is above average.
I'd say play it, but be okay to put it down if it bores you.
