I wanted another " Bohemian Rhapsody " or " Walk the line " but instead I got another " intervention " episode. I wish it would have focused on her upbringing and her love for jazz music. I don't dismiss the fact that she was widely known for her addiction but to make it the center of the film along with her toxic relationship with Blake was disappointing to see. Show us the build up and collapse of her music career and life. There was a missed opportunity with this film. My biggest question is why do filmmakers continue to make biopics focus on the low points in deceased musicians lives? We have already read about it in every tabloid and TMZ post. Show us who they were before the fame, we know the rest.
