(NON SPOILER REVIEW)
Besides the numerous reviews about the film that only love story is being shown... dude, thats because of the expectation levels you have in mind... I would just wanna say the following things regarding the most feedbacks people have offered yet...
Brahmastra has been a great experience...
You can't expect audience to connect with a totally new serious genre of Astraverse all of a sudden... So the 1st part of the film had to be a simple one... with a normal guy like us having secrets unknown and finding the answers through a journey with a girl he falls for. Besides the love showed between them was portrayed such purely... And the references from Maa Durga, Maa Kali, light, his mother and everything made the charism between them far more attractive.
Also, Ranbir's character was not that of any kind of superhero that he had to behave stiff and stern, he was just a normal guy who had nothing in his life, and all his life comes upside down when he gets to know the past of his life and the things related to him, and he overcomes his fears through the love he received. So, saying it a mere bollywood love story is totally misleading!!
Talking about the story, remember, Bahubali 1 wasn't that convincing... (People even slammed by saying how abrupt ending they showed)... It was Bahubali 2 which completed all the storyline and the hidden secrets... And that changed the entire perspective...
Ayaan has followed a similar pattern here by revoking the past in the next part... True that they could have showed the secret areas more vividly (so that people didn't get the misconceptions they have rn)... Yet the next two parts will surely hit the right chords.
Not to forget, the film is a trilogy (3 Parts) and of course we have encountered numerous secrets in the first part, whose answers haven't been provided yet... Idk how many of the watchers have actually paid an attention to those numerous secrets... If yes, then surely the hype for Part 2 is gonna stay alive.
Regarding people saying that dialogue writing was poor and quite light... Guys, the film was based on modern day world with two characters who were normal human beings like us, would you expect them to talk like Royalties belonging to the Medieval Era? (Mouni's character didn't belong to the same genre and so you can watch her speak few words from Sanskrit like the people from Medieval Era. Though few minutes of scenes of the couple could have been trimmed, but that's not gonna affect the overall simplicity and portrayal of divinity in the film.
People remarking Alia's acting to be not up to the mark, but Idk why but I'm damn sure...
Isha is not what she showed herself to be...
From the first scene, it was evident in her style of acting that she's a mystery...
A mystery that only a handful of us have caught sight of...
She definitely might be related to Junior or Amrita... It's clear from her acting that she's weird ...
(Anyways it's my speculation though)
Hope Part 2 has some answers for this.
Overall, I do wish the misconceptions among netizens be cleared regarding the plot and idea of the film. Have a good experience in 3D in your nearby cinemal halls guys... Peace out...
