I am a lifelong Star Wars geek, I was six when the first film came out in '77, that said I want to like this one sooooo much more, but I find myself actually avoiding Episode 1 when watching them all. Between Jake Wrong's butchering of scenes and the introduction of Jar-Jar to CGI Yoda and George's usually forgivable plot mistakes, sorry, this one is the worst.

This is one of the most underrated movies of all time. From the "lighting strikes into the rise of the tripod" sequence to the Tim Robbins character arc, it's absolutely terrifying. The reviews and ratings prove how worthless they are, by this I mean that right now, in late 2019, it's showing three nights in a row on HBO, 'nuff said.
