It’s a mess. A total mess. First Obi Wan does not seem to know whether the battle is truly lost and Jedi should stay hidden or if he believes the Jedi order will rise again with Luke. On the one hand he refuses to help and train a young Jedi ….telling him the fight is over. That young Jedi is killed. On the flip side he tells Uncle Owen when the time comes Luke…unlike the other ….must be trained? If the fight is over and lost…and Obi Wan is turning away young Jedi…wouldn’t he agree with Uncle Owen that Luke should stay a farmer? Also, who will train Luke. It’s clear Obi Wan has let his powers weaken greatly so in another 8 to 10 years he would certainly not be up to that task. Maybe Yoda. But even more concerning…how can Obi Wan protect the 10 year old Luke in such a diminished state. As Luke’s only protector it almost a dereliction of duty to let his powers fall into such a state. Very sad. Then these is the Princess Leia problem. First it’s clear from a New Hope that she had never met Obi Wan as a 10 year old. When she makes here plea to Obi Wan in her video she never says…you rescued me years ago…I need you again. Wouldn’t she? Wouldn’t you? Also, she was taken by Senator Organa to hide her from Sidious and Vader. The key to her hiding is that the Galaxy thinks Lea is an Organa. Whoops…cover blown…everyone knows she is NOT an Organa …she is adopted. Would that not lead Sidious and Vader to then ask the question…heck the Galaxy to ask the question…if Princess Leia is not an Organa…who is she? The exact question they wanted to avoid! What a mess!!
