It's a different take on classic Christmas tales and characters. The plot is predictable and the storyline is relatively basic and generic. Not everyone's going to like it. But it's entertaining enough.

I like this drama. I'm a fan of crime thrillers and to watch this on ancient China setting is refreshing. This show made it easier to imagine how they solved cases back in those times. Minus star coz some cases felt too dragged out with additional details that they could've easily gone without. Also, I didn't like the female sidekick Ma Rong. She is annoying AF. I grew tired of her character mid season and would skip her parts. Best if she's written out of season 2, but I doubt it 😅

The script is highly xenophobic and racially biased. No wonder this spin off failed. It would've surpassed the amazing original show, given the global nature of this, had they done it right. They couldn't get the Suspect Behavior one right, they couldn't get this one right either. I hope the original series reboot lives up to the expectations.
