(spoilers) This is one of those movies that had me screaming at the character(s) because they were doing stuff that just didn't make sense. You know in Halloween, when Jamie manages to knock Michael Myers out a couple times, and being the helpless idiot that she is, immediately discards her weapon near Myers and then walks near his hands while he's laying on the floor? That's the kind of stuff I'm talking about. I don't care how dumb the helpless heroine is supposed to be, there's no way any human being would make the choices she made in this movie. As she is doing her various sneaking missions, she would do something so obvious that I was eventually just yelling "Okay, you're just dumb. I hope you get caught and killed." and "Yeah, that's it, leave the door open, so he can get out when he wakes up." She moved so slow and seemed to have no sense of urgency in extremely urgent situations. Meera was VERY frustrating. As others have pointed out, there's a ton of inconsistency in her character. But there was one example right in the beginning that really set the bar low for this movie's integrity - and that is when the intruders break in and you think that they've got the family in their clutches, but then Henry kills them all with a secret gun and Meera (who later exhibits psychological trauma from the incident) is super upset with him, even though she admits that he totally saved their lives. The movie plans on explaining why he has the gun later on, but that doesn't mean that it makes sense for Meera to be pissed off. It's just weird.
I let myself enjoy this movie, even though I had it all figured out about 25% of the way in, and despite Meera's ridiculous character. But I spent a lot of time fantasizing about living in that beautiful house.
