Ryota's back story was unnecessarily long and should not have been the main focus of this movie. The only good parts were of the actual game. The game itself was good but lacking the humour and banter that the manga and anime had. Sakuragi was the biggest let down! His over-the-top energy and silliness have been completely removed. After waiting this long, I wished I had not spend my time watching this movie. Rather I would have just stuck to readying the manga and letting my own imagination create the Shohoku v Sannoh game. The only heart stopping moment was the last 1min of the game.
