Saw it in 9th grade when it first released. Excellent cop movie that still holds up. Most intense car chase scene. Peterson was a brash, risk-taking cop; Dafoe was a calculative, intimidating criminal. The ending is one of the best of the genre. Fun fact, first time "twerking" is caught on film...and she was white, LOL.. Definitely a must watch. To call it "underrated" is a gross understatement. "And the check is in the mail, and I love you, and I promise not to..." John Turturro Love this movie. Oh, and I bought the soundtrack by Wang Chung
