One of the most amazing aspects of this film is how competently it captures the Lust and Confusion of young love! Armie and Timothee are exquisite in their competing passions. Armie, although in reality is much older than the character in the book, effortless captures a young man, confident in himself, yet so totally enamoured by the younger Elio.
The infamous "Peach scene" is more complex than you might think. I feel Elio's "shame", and deep sadness, of both being caught expressing himself so "intimately", and yet, longing desperatly to hold onto Oliver to prevent his inevitable departure.
The film's ending is one of the most beautiful and painful expressions of LOVE and LOSS.
