It was slow and boring. Not my kind of movie. The ending picked up a little though. I'll probably watch the second movie to see the story... hopefully the pace picks up.

The gameplay is extremely fun and the battle mechanics are smooth and easy. The graphics are a bit rough in some areas. The framerate is a bit bad sometimes. but I'm someone that prefers gameplay over graphics and the gameplay is fantastic. Also the story is good in my opinion.

It wasnt what I expected honestly. Monster hunter from what I played, isnt a horror, isekai, adult themed game and even if they didnt want to follow the main story, they certainly made it so the general monster hunter game series audience wouldnt be able to watch it. Not for kids or teens. Apparently hulu has it as MA. Which in some place is 17+ or others 18+. Ignoring how dark and unrelated to the actual story it is, as a standalone movie, I'm giving it a 3/5. There was some unnecessary effects. Slow motion in places that didnt fit. A few plot holes involving the mc. Even a few scenes that apparently was cgi but looks like a model that had poor effects surrounding it. Hopefully the second movie fills the plot holes as well as have better animation and fixes the unnecessary effects.
