It’s just really, really bad. Short, choppy sentences that feel like start/stop, start/stop while you’re reading, with little deep, in-depth conversation between characters. Characters are just stereotyped - poor little orphan rich girl stupidly falls in love with literally poor scummy man who just wants her money, sleeps around on her but she thinks he won’t do it again. The book is written at about a Grade 5 reading level - I read more complex novels as a child. How does Danielle Steele make money on these horribly written books?
