A truly great film - well acted, well directed and in my humble opinion NOT slow at all (some reviewers seems to think it was, but not me). Hats off to whoever casted the movie - it doesn't happen very often but the 'young' Nicholas looked, acted, moved and spoke just like the 'old' Nicholas - absolutely 100% credible (in fact, all of the characters who appeared as young and old, all looked extremely credible!!) A true story about a truly wonderful man - go see it, it's brilliant... ...bet you cry though!!!! (in a good way, if you know what I mean). GB

Emperor's New Clothes.... It must be me - reading all of the other reviews, that's all I can come up with - it must be me... The sound quality was poor (several people walked out, complaining that they couldn't hear important dialogue), the constant flashes of light-beams and starry-stuff were quite frankly annoying and unnecessary and the musical score was instantly forgettable. The acting was great however, some first-class performances in this respect - but to my amateur eye, the film was overly long just for the sake of it, it could have been reduced by 45 minutes and improved immeasurably. Nolan's take on Dunkirk was poor (possibly the worst WW2 movie I've ever watched) and this wasn't much better in my opinion. The story is of course, compelling - but I left the cinema with a feeling of disappointment - just like Dunkirk - Oppenheimer has been over-hyped as far as I'm concerned. But then again, it's probably just me....
