I have a mixed opinion on this book. Like most reviews, I read this book in school to learn about the Great Depression and the history behind it to take into consideration.
As an autistic person, Lennie doesn't have a good portrayal as one review expands on that point but that's kind of to be expected in the 1930s...As long as schools aren't encouraging people to treat people with Autism and stuff like that like the way Lennie is treated, then it shouldn't be too much of a problem, at least not for my school anyways.
If schools *are* encouraging that, then that's when it becomes damaging.
Not my favourite book though it's an interesting look into the great depression, just keep in mind the history behind it/the time it was written in and that Lennie doesn't have the best representation for me personally, though I might be completely wrong on some parts or sounding offensive, this is just what I think.
