I enthusiastically jumped into this book, intrigued by the quirky characters and clever, descriptive writing. I finished the book feeling utterly bereft. Think “Lord of the Flies” goes to Maritime, Colonial Canada.
The narrator did a beautiful job with an extensive cast of characters, employing accents and tones to distinguish one from the other.
