I enjoyed the movie, BUT I don’t like how the characters , the friends, were portrayed. The black girl had an attitude, the white girl was happy go lucky and the Hispanic girl was tuff and angry. I hate that the falsehood of stereotypes are being represented. I read a lot of the reviews and I guess I was the only person that missed that this movie was a “coming of age” movie. I thought it was more about a cultural rite of passage and about becoming your own person because she had a choice like the women before her, but I can see some of the other points too. Again, cute movie BUT didn’t like how the main characters were portrayed.
