It's clear this is the leads first time acting. The acting is very stale, lacks charisma, and sounds unnatural. Hopefully, it gets better as the episodes continue but right now all I see is this face 😐. Honestly speaking the best friend should have been the lead. She actually has energy and makes the show engaging. But further than that, the writing is unoriginal and corny. No need for all the woke key words, even as a liberal it's so cringey to hear these lines every two seconds. The camera work doesn't fit the series. (shots, transistions, color grading) and more importantly the vampire diaries music doesn't fit well into the scenes. This is written like a soap opera for 15 year olds. No one talks like this. No historical fun-ness like the movies.
