I was turned away at first by all the negativity around this film. I feel that I was misinformed. Venom is not literally the most original or perfect movie, but everything it tries to do it does well. Humor lands. Action is intense and surprising. Film is consistent and easy to follow. Acting is mostly really good. Music was probably good, can’t remember any particular themes. It’s a badass comic movie and it’s comes off as such. Sure, If I wanted to rewrite the movie I’d dial the action down and focus on darker personal themes with Ethan. But it’s written well for what it is.
