Tthis is an another example of the lowest common denominator show that now dominates Netflix #10. The writing/plotting and dialogue are lazy and frequently non-sensical, but Netflix has the broad audience of people like me that will get drawn in to see how this silly mess turns out.

I was very intrigued to see this, given the director and cast. After two episodes, quite disappointed to say it was overly convoluted and brimming in self importance.

I like to watch Italian shows to practice Italian, but only made it through half of the first episode. It seems very cliche. None of the characters were appealing and the romance seemed forced.

Very disappointing for a Masterpiece show which tend to be well-written and original. Silly how they take a show with British sensibilities and set it in Amsterdam English. The cast and plotting are very bland based on the over used trope of the hard-bitten, emotionally damaged detective.

I’ve tried to get through the early few episodes multiple times, and thought I’d try again after seeing how many Emmy nominations it got. I normally am a fan of dramatic, auteur-driven content; and particularly the spy thriller genre. This one however I think is not very good. Very slow, very awkward chemistry between the leads, storyline’s non sensical.

I consider myself to be a fairly sophisticated film fan. However, I just didn’t get this one. I only watched the first 35 minutes, but I found it to be extremely weird and slow. I’m out.

Disappointing, ridiculous. It’s like a superhero movie with real people. Some people say it’s like James Bond, but it has none of the style and restraint.

I didn’t get it. Very odd story. The actors all overplayed their roles, no doubt the director’s fault, making them unbelievable, and hence very difficult to engage in the themes of the film.

Very uneven plotting and character development. A lot of it doesn’t make sense. I’m sticking with it though to see what happens although by this point almost don’t care.
