The way my sibling described it halfway through the season: “It’s about a kid who’s Chinese but was raised in America, and he’s trying to help the new kid at school (who is secretly a monkey, because the Manga worlds are real), and now his uncle — who is also a monkey — is trying to steal the staff, but a pig just broke into the school and wrecked the cafeteria. And now the Empress is involved.”
