I just caught this film on Netflix in December 2020. I like the points the film makes about being true to science -- and overall you have to say that Bill Nye makes positive contributions to the learning of science, especially to young people. I also agree with Bill's stance on climate change. What I DON'T agree with is that the film isn't totally truthful about Bill's background and completely leaves out his work as a comedian; specifically, his work in Seattle on the defunct late night "Almost Live!" comedy sketch tv show of the 1980s. Yes, he occasionally did his "Bill Nye the Science Guy" experiments on this show -- but even more frequently, he played other characters such as "Speed Walker", "Ineffectual Middle Management Suck Ups" and was in other hilarious skits with that talented cast. Why leave mention of this other work out? Is he ashamed that he was a comedian before he turned into a serious scientist for kids???! Yes, folks, he was "Science Guy" before his Disney "Science Guy" show, and the "Almost Live!" work at least deserved some footage and inclusion in this otherwise excellent film. A perfect way to have mentioned this background was when they showed his friend Steve Wilson, who was also on the "Almost Live!" show as well. A real missed opportunity. Go to YouTube and search for "Almost Live!" to see Bill in these skits; you certainly don't have to take my word for it.
