If you're a die hard fan of Vikings and you are expecting the exact same thing then this is not the show for you. But if you can separate your expectation for this as 'Vikings season 7' and instead look at this as its own show then its good. Charaters are really likeable qnd the storyline holds so many twists and turns that it keeps interesting, and gains momentum throughout the season. I personally loved it and can't wait for Season 2 so I recommend giving it a go. Unless your a historian because there are quite a bit of artistic license. 😅
