It was good and all but as many stated, it was really American focused. With that being said, there were teams that I was rooting for but only one of them made it cross the finish line. I understand it's a race, but i was more interested in those that were doing it to say they've done it.
If they do another season, they need to focus on other teams. I had no idea there was a Japan team. You only knew they were apart of the race when they called for medical evacuation. And team India only focused on the twins. I know they were doing this for the girls back home, but they didn't interview or really show their other team members.
Someone mentioned about them resting in one place and not letting them start at the same time. But if you were actually watching. They are forced to rest for no less than 90 minutes. So if you go to camp with a 2 hr lead on the team behind you, if you decided to leave camp right after your 90 minutes is up, then you still have your 2 hr lead because the team behind you also has to rest for 90 minutes.
As others have also stated, once NZ called for help i was like "OMG NO WAY, THEY ARE SO CLOSE AND NOW THEY ARE OUT". But then they get assistance and get a new boat and get to rest till another boat is brought to them. Thought that was kinda weird, but now that i think about it i guess because it was a "mechanical issue" because they said something was wrong with the boat then it was okay with the staff? Linda like what happened with the team that got a replacement bike? The team in the beginning didn't have an issue with their canoe, they just couldn't physically go anywhere with the wind and current. Though i think they shouldn't have been penalized due to it being an unforeseen storm.
