I went and saw the new movie Respect. The movie is about the life and career of Aretha Franklin starring Jennifer Hudson. I so enjoyed the movie. Many of the songs I had not heard in a long while. I think this movie will garner some awards and deserved attention. Jennifer Hudson did an awesome job (great acting and singing) and I will be curious to see what awards and accolades she garners. I have a bias, of course. I love gospel, R & B, blues and soul. Her music and this film has all those genres. The Swampers from the Shoals were prominently depicted, for they played a pivotal role in her ascension. I loved the awesome horn section of the Swampers.

I am enjoying this book. The book places you inside front row seat for the startup of Oculus which was ultimately bought by Facebook for 2.9 B
