The novel has a universal value as austen has portrayed the characters very beautifully. Darcy, Elizabeth and the other characters represent humans in common. Pride and prejudice as the title shows (first impression) as it is a truth universally acknowledged that a wealthy single man is also in need of a wife. And this is really the truth of all ages.
