As a huge fan of Mike Flanagan's previous work, I was made up to find out he'd released a new series. The first few episodes had me intrigued, and I liked how you found out the fate of the characters at the start of the series. That's what pulled me in, I wanted to know what tragedies must have occurred for all those deaths to happen.
The acting is amazing! I was happy to see returning actors from Hill House/Bly Manor/Midnight Mass/Midnight Club, and I loved that Mark Hamill was featured as one of the many main characters. Carla Gugino's grim reaper-like character, Verna, was by far one of my favourites. Outstanding performance from her!
I can't think of anything to fault this series, it was really well written and acted, and is definitely my new found favourite series in the Flanaverse, alongside Hill House.
Side note - If you're not familiar with Flanagan's work, it can seem confusing at first but it's ALWAYS worth sticking around and watching till the end. I highly recommend :)
