Simon Ring

Series very, very, very loosely "inspired" by the books and characters created by Sir Terry Pratchett. If I wasn't aware of the books it may be a lot more enjoyable. Visually the creative team seem to have gone for a post apocalyptic wasteland vibe. The acting is either painfully wooden or seriously over the top. With such a huge wealth of material to use it astounds me that practically only the characters, place names and a few other details were used while the rest of the rich tapestry of The Discworld was discarded. Judging it as a slightly off the wall sci-fi fantasy show it gets a score of 3 stars. If I was to judge it as an adaption of a Pratchett story it would score a 1, and that would probably be being generous.
