The show was ok. The episodes do get progressively better and less woke as the show continues. I had several problems with the show.
My first one was that Jess Valenzuela ( the main character) seems to draw conclusions from clues that barely make sense.
Also, the show was pretty “woke” too, and there were several instances where “woke issues/opinions were “plugged” in, mostly involving Tasha, which got kind of annoying.
There were also several instances in the show where you thought to yourself, “ok this is completely unrealistic”. (SPOILER) When Jess and her friends break her dad out of a Mexican prison. Firstly, the group barely seems to plan the rescue and secondly you don’t just break into a Mexican prison. Her dad was arrest for a pretty serious crime so he is being housed in a maximum security prison which would be almost impossible to break into without proper planning time and resources (which they did not have).
Also the show was just straight up boring for a good chunk of the show. It only really picked up during the last 3-4 episodes.
Finally, there was no Nick Cage so that was disappointing.
Anyway I would give it 2.5 stars but that’s not an option so I’m rounding down and giving it 2 stars. I might watch a second season of it if there is nothing else. It’s kinda sad because I like Disney but this show just wasn’t it for me.
