I love it. Thankfully I’ve seen it before it leaves Netflix. The most brilliant tv show I’ve seen in years. It is brilliantly acted on every level, and beautifully written. Also wonderfully filmed. And directed. I feel richer for having watched it. Its amazing to see the Families with the Matchmaker, and the consequent dramas and meetings for prospective matches- amazing! I knew nothing really about the way of life in this religious community. I love the atmosphere of urban Jerusalem too. Shtisel Is so warm and unpretentious. I also like Palestinian series I’ve viewed. I won’t comment on the womens status because it’s all in context here. What a stunning achievement by the entire Company who made this show.
