I loved this latest Ishiguro novel. I liked the way in which he built up to the ending , which to a human being would have been unbearable.
However, I wondered if this was indeed an allegorical tale? Did Klara represent an elderly relative ,used for childcare and domestic duties , abandoned when too old to work?
I am ,maybe, being fanciful but I was reminded of Larkin's poem "At Grass"!
