The days of Tim Russert are long gone! The media for so many years was the protection of democracy by being the true watchdog of our government. It was unbiased, fair and equal and yes skeptical of ALL parties. It seeks the "TRUTH" and held ALL ACCOUNTABLE. Not any more. Party over Country at all cost rules our land. This mindset has infected agencies like the FBI, DOJ and yes the watchdog of our society OUR MEDIA. We understand that Fox leans right and CNN leans left and MSNBC is far left. But we expect, and need so badly, that news agencies like NBC, ABC, and CBS be the true and honest watchdogs. I actually blame the media more than the politicians for the mistrust in America today. The politicians have not changed. It's that we lost the Watchdog and therefore the trust in today's media to seek truth in a fair and unbiased way. There is no need for China to build up their military. All they have to do is be patient and watch us destroy ourselves. Yes they can speed up the process by pouring more Fentanyl into our country and watch our young people die or walk around like zombies. For you all in the media that either do not have the guts or are afraid of losing your large salaries, you have the death of those overdoses on your hands. When are you going to truly report the Biden story of selling this country out? There is a 2 tier justice system for the have's and have not's and you are either too corrupt, afraid, or think we are too stupid to know. I will give Brett Baier and Shannon Bream of Fox credit for really challenging Donald Trump with the interview they conducted with him. It was a real testimony to the late Tim Russert. If the Media did their job like they use to in the past, I predict neither Joe Biden or Donald Trump would be our choices in 2024. So unless there is another party added, go ahead and protect Joe and I will vote for Donald in spite. PS - don't think you are fooling anyone if you wait until you have to report the Biden story or if Biden no longer serves the establishment interest. If you plan on getting back to your true roots again, please let me know. I truly looked forward to watching "Meet the Press" in the past and I apologize if you have already done this story. I wouldn't know....I haven't watch your show for quite some time now. Updated 8/25/23.... Kristen Welker was a good choice to replace Todd! I was impressed with her on the job she did in the last presidential debate. She was fair to both candidates. I'm sure she may be biased, who isn't?, who cares? It didn't show when she was the moderator and that's the way it should be! Perhaps having Kristen in this very important role and having people like Brett Bair and Shannon Bream in their roles, we will be one step closer to having trust again in the American media. I will give Meet the Press another chance since it was my favorite news show when Tim Russert was there. Good luck Kristen, this country needs honest and brave men and women being the true watchdogs of our government!
