This is the best live action movie that Disney has released. It is such a beautiful movie both visually and emotionally. There was a good balance between the nostalgic elements and the modern changes. Halle Bailey nailed Ariel, her voice is heart wrenching and she was able to convey so much emotion while being mute most of the film. I did not think that I could be moved to tears by a movie that I already knew the storyline for, but I was pleasantly surprised to be wrong. I also liked that they fleshed out Eric's character more in the film, he felt like more of a soulmate for Ariel than he did in the original animated movie. Their falling in love, while still fast paced, felt more genuine and based on actual common ground. It's a 10/10 and I plan on watching it again.
